GastroZone was founded with the aim of preserving, propagating, and passing on to future generations the local knowledge and cultural memory accumulated by heirloom seeds over generations. In the face of the decline in genetic diversity and the erosion of local production knowledge caused by global agricultural practices, the club advocates that seeds are not merely biological material, but also a cultural heritage and a shared social asset. The club’s primary objective is to ensure ecological resilience, food sovereignty, and cultural continuity through the conservation, propagation, and dissemination of heirloom seeds. To this end, the club conducts simultaneous and integrated initiatives across the pillars of production, education, research, and community sharing.
